GOOD features about Jio phone

  1. Contact transferring: One can easily import all his contacts from Gmail contact list, Microsoft Outlook or from external SD card. So I was really surprised to get such a feature on this budget phone. So no more pain of saving each and every contact.
  2. Video calling: Although the phone is currently lacking WhatsApp feature, it comes with a Jio video chat call feature that allows the user to do the video calling from this feature phone to other loaded with the same app. Moreover the quality of video and voice bearable.
  3. WiFi: You can connect your phone and browse through all the apps without consuming your high-speed data limit at home and I will say that’s a huge plus
  4. Unlimited calling even in roaming is a boon to many lovebirds out there
  5. Camera quality: One cant expect to scan the document with this budget phone but 2 MP does a decent job
  6. Wireless FM: It was always the pain for all the FM lover to plug the earphone and listen. But wireless feature is quite an attraction for the FM lovers
  7. Note: Now since the generation is riding the digital life this note taking a feature of the Phone was quite an attraction for me. One can easily jot down the notes under separate headings, which is normally a smartphone feature.
  8. Voice Assistant feature: Though not very perfect, it is one of the features we find in flagship phones. So getting at least a glimpse of that feature is a great plus
  9. Jio music app: Music lovers this is huge. Apple music, Wynk, Saavn etc they charge you for music but Jio Music comes as a complimentary and I love this in this small bomb.
  10. Watch TV: Though the screen is not big and hence it will be difficult to watch on. But it comes with a cable which you can connect to the TV and watch LIVE. So all DTH providers beware this might be a huge pain for you guys.
  11. Its Free

SOME area of improvement required:

  1. Whatsapp: Its life of the majority. So whatever is your plan AmbaniJi, bring Whatsapp on the platform that might boost your market depth.
  2. LAG and HANG: Apart from calling and messaging every other operation takes a lot of time to operate and many a time it hanged pushing me to restart the phone.
  3. Battery: Normally feature phones once charged can stand for at least 2 days. Moreover we cant expect more than 2000mAh in such a small size. But still, I found battery drains a bit faster.
  4. No earphones: Though its a style of not providing earphones but at least a basic earphones may add a charm to this.

FINAL VERDICT:

I don’t know what the competition is bringing now(Micromax with BSNL or Karbonn with AIRTEL). I am impressed with what Reliance is providing. It has always been their style to capture the market. I remember how before the JIO’s existence network provider used to loot us for data and calling and current scenario is you are getting free everywhere. My final verdict is go grab it if you are in a need of a phone.
