WhatsApp, I can bet majority cant live without this. I have my whole family, friends, foes, clients, business partners on this tiny app. I think the majority of you will be congruent to me. Apart from individuals, we make plenty of groups such as friends group, adult friend group, ok type friend group, family group, siblings group, and whatnot. I am sure terminology might be different but each of you is dealing with similar kind of admin or assistance admin responsibilities.
Now comes the catch part. We are humans and humans do make mistake. Have you ever faced some scenario where a message was for your friend group but you mistakenly forwarded it to some guardian/family group or a message meant for your spouse/girlfriend was mistakenly forwarded to your boss or someone who is not eligible to see those type of messages? This is the best: You received some awesome message in your group and you feel the urge to forward to others and ended up sharing in the same group, where the message was originated. Nasty isn’t. I have faced all such scenarios and have been cautious whenever I forward something.
But relax, we got a solution now. If you are one that has sent a WhatsApp message and wish you hadn’t, then worry not. WhatsApp finally has you covered. The “Delete for Everyone” feature has been in the works for quite some time and has started rolling out to Android and iOS users. With this feature rolled out one can press the message, you want to delete and “delete for everyone” will pop out. Messages you successfully delete for everyone will be replaced with “This message was deleted” in your recipients’ chats (*). Similarly, if you see “This message was deleted” in a chat, it means that the sender deleted their message for everyone.”
- Both the sender and receiver need to be using the latest version of WhatsApp.
- You can only delete messages for everyone for up to seven minutes after sending. Once seven minutes have passed, there is no way to delete messages for everyone.
Happy WhatsApp ing !!!
